Looking for new 4" or 5" exhaust. Which will get more power? Turbo or Cat back? Any warranty issues with exhaust upgrade?

I went 4" MBRP Cat back with a Muffler delete pipe...Sounds great and looks good to. I was told that a turbo back will void my warranty and since I opted to get the extended 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty I didn’t want to do anything to lose it. I was also told that there aren’t any gains between the 4” and 5” unless you start pushing 500 hp. The 5” is supposed to have a deeper tone but I like the way mine sounds. No regrets thus far but it has only been on for three days now.

4" will get you all the power and EGT drop you can get. 5" is more for looks and cool factor. For maximum performance, you will want to go with a full system. You may however throw some codes if you pull the cat. I suggest getting a cat-back kit and the front-pipe (cat delete) seperate. this way you can bolt your catalytic converter back in for dealer visits/inspections etc.

I was wondering if I could a get 4" in turbo back but I also was wondering if I could use it as a cat back until my warranty runs out then use the front pipe then?

The muffler delete does what the name implyes, its about a 3ft section of pipe that you put in instead of the muffler i.e. straght pipes your exhaust. i was worried mine would be to loud but it isnt that bad. it has a nice tone and you cant really hear it on the highway, i just got back from listening to a co-workers truck that has the 4" with muffler and it sounds stock where as mine has a deeper tone to it (he will be taking the muffler out this weekend). No regrets leaving the muffler off. I have the MBRP T-409 kit (stainless steal). check with some of the vendors on this site, alot of them give discounts to Diesle Place Members (i got the discount). I chose the MBRP system based on the views of other members on this site and thus far i am not dissapointed with my decision.

MBRP is the favorite around here. Check our site for pricing and more info.
