Hi, my 93 Chev 6.5 will run whole day, but when shut down for longer that 15 minutes it will not start. I have to wait for about 3 hours then it will start. It has mechanical pump, no PMD and puring cold water over injection pump makes no difference. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The 4911 DB-2 mechanical is known for hard start hot problems related to the internal transfer pump and worn head and rotor.

Pour a gallon of tap water slowly over the pump. let it sit about a minute or two. Then try. Quantum is right about that year pump . The 4911 model head and rotor had a defect that would appear after the pump was "heat soaked". Only fix is another pump with the updated head and rotor.
