All depends on what you want to do with your truck. Strictly performance? Towing? Mix? Do you want a chip or a module? Some guys like to adjust on the fly, some don't, some like both. :D We need more if we are going to help.

If you want on the fly adjustment you want a chip/module then. It mounts in line with the ECM under the hood like a Banks Six Gun or Edge Juice and stays there. You can pick the performance levels as you drive via an in-cab controller. Some are not adjustable and just add some ponies all the time with no in-cab controller. Some offer features like screens that allow you to monitor the engine and various other things.

A tuner/programmer (too many names! ) can only be adjusted with the engine off through the diagnostic port. You pick a level of perfromance and you keep it until you shut off and reflash the computer. Examples are Super Chip Tuner or PPE Programmer. Hope it makes sense. It sounds like it is overwhelming, but just do some research and you'll get it all.

I have a Quadzilla Tuner on my 02' Dmax and love it. Great power and little smoke. (If that's your thing, I wish it made more smoke!) They offer both tuners and modules. Good group of guys down there.

I had the Edge Juice with Attitude on my 2004.5 Duramax. With a MBRP Exhaust and Volant intaked/filter, it made 377 hp and 745 lbs. at the tires. Best mileage was 19 on the hwy. Never any problems and very easy to use. I sold the truck to my bro and now I just got a new LMM............it's awesome. Hope this helps.........There's so many different electronic upgrades that it can get confusing. What sold me on the Edge was the safety features built in for the engine and tranny.

The new body style trucks (07.5) have the lmm engine. The older body style or classic style have the lbz.

I have had the beta Juice with Attitude for about 800 miles now. They seem to have everything working pretty well. I have been using level 1 to monitor fuel mileage. It seems as if you can achieve 20+ MPG on the freeway. My truck is very fresh, so I have not pushed it very hard. Except for lining up with my buddy’s Bully Dog tuned LBZ. On level 6 (Hot), we ran dead even from 0-90. It seemed like I was pulling him a bit on the top end though. The monitor also lets you monitor the DPF re-gen cycle. In addition, the turbo timer, performance meter, gauges, alerts, and max EGT functions make it almost essential. Be patient, I’m sure it won’t be long.

Hi-
So if you can monitor the DPF gen cycle does that mean that you can disable it completely? I have straight piped my LMM and have not had any probs yet except for the check engine light staying on, curious though what will happen when the computer decides to run a re-gen....I have an Edge on the way right now, should have it installed by the weekend.

I buy from an Edge wholesaler that told me that he had expected them by the weekend, it was bad info, they will be available by the end of July...

Try runing the juice on level 2 with higher boost. What is your high boost level. Is it still 1- 5. Run a boost of 5 to. Thank is the best level on the LBZ. They are very similar motors.

I still think for good performance thats a easy add-on product the edge juice is the way to go. Loved everything about that chip, including the sleek look of the attitude controller.
