Hey all. Without going into alot of details about trying to find
Shell Rotella 5W40 synthetic here in Canada..... Anyone know
where it can be had?

I am specifically looking for Rotella 5 40 synthetic. In Canada.

People around my area don't believe it exists. Can't agree on
what volumes its availible in..... Its been a major pain in the http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley35.gif

My shell dealer ordered it in for me. At the time I could only get 20 liter pails. I still haven't got around to picking it up yet. But yes, it does exist.

Maybe I'll have to go pick it up and take pictures. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gifEdited by: Max Power

Well around here.....Can't get accurate pricing. Can't get an
accurate volumes that it is sold by ( quart, gallon, or five gallons((
litre bottle, four litre jug, 20 litre pail)) Some people are
saying "You mean 0W40" Others "Nope, it doesn't exist"

Looking for a place(s) I can order internally. Either by one
litre bottles or four litre jugs. And pricing, too please.

Spoke to the local card-lock / bulk dealer. 5w40 will be available later this year in the normal packaging configurations. Pricing is not available at this time. 0w40 is available right now. He could not give me an exact date.

From what I've been told by the marketing people is that for now the 5W-40 is available in 20 litre jugs at any bulk Shell fuel/lubricant outlet. The 1 litre and 4 litre containers should be in local stores in late December. In marketing speak, that means mid March. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Not to hijack the thread but have you checked out the new 100% synthetic 75W-90 Spirax S gear oil? I'm using it in my manual transmission (import) and I'm looking seriously at using it for rear and front differentials as well. (PDS # 1.28) From what I've seen of the specifications and the way it has made the transmission much smoother shifting and quieter, it may be worth a try. It's about the same price as Castrol's GL-5 gear oil, and I get a better overall price for a 20 litre jug.

Called local Woodstock Ontario Shell bulk supplier today who in turn suggested I call Shell HQ in Calgary. 1.800.661.1600.

Calgary Shell tech said Rotella 5W40 synthetic (1litre,4l,20l) has been available to suppliers in southern Ontario for a couple of months now. Shell tech will contact Woodstock supplier. Shell tech will call me and update me on conversation with local supplier. Asked for price quotes but those will have to come from local supplier.

Of interest, Calgary Shell tech also noted that she had received several recent calls requesting Rotella 5W40 synthetic.Edited by: Richard Hendry

Thanx Richard. I am currently on hold with Shell, as I type this. They're playing soothing opera music. (yawn)

Well. Now I got somewhere......

Shell gave me a number in St Catherines to call.

Called them.....

Case of 4 X 4 litre jugs is $79.20. So devide by four is $19.80
per jug. I am paying (last time) $9.45 for the Rotella 15W40.

For the $79.20 per case, they are delvering to my dad's place, no charge.

For those who may be interested, call the number that Richard provided and see if there is a dealer in your area.

Now after all the stupid looks and answers and dumb questions, I need a
drink. Who would have thought that finding oil would have been so
tough.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

Try KENWORTH truck center 200 yards south of the 401 on Dixie road Mississauga.

They also do oil analysis on site, takes 10 min. and costs $20 cdn

good luck

Tried the Kenworth dealership in Hamilton. They quoted $24.05 per
four litre jug (I think) But never got a definite "We can get it"

They also do oil analysis on site. $16 something plus tax.

Thanx Letsgo. The stuff I have on order works out to be cheaper, and they can get it.

I put an e-mail into Shell Canada about a week and a half ago. No reply yet.

The places around here that carry Rotella didn't even know the stuff existed. It wasn't in Shell's product book.

I haven't been able to locate an authorized Shell dealer in my area (in
my travels) But with the number that Richard posted, Shell told
me the nearest was St Catherines.
