I have a question for you guys. I have had my truck for a year now and have put 18,000 miles on it. The truck now has 48K+ on it. It seams to me that it has gotten quite a bit hard to shift. When I first got it getting it in gear was like butter but now the gears seam harder to find at low rpm, as I usually shift at 2k or less. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Mine shifts pretty hard now,but it has 151K on it and has been running up over 425rwhp for a good 50k now. I think the syncro's are getting worn a bit :( . PM Deadeye,he put something in the tranny that helped it shift better.

I've had my truck start shifting hard as well. It happens when I have been real easy on it for a while; running on low power setting for a 1,000 miles or so. As soon as I turn up the power and run it hard through the gears every thing seems fine again; it shifts smooth and easy.
I had noticed that my truck was starting to shift harder, and it was also giving a slight "grind" when shifting into the upper gears. I fixed mine with a fluid change in the transmission. I used Transynd. Easy to do. (Get a Suction Gun, sure makes the job easy)
Also you may want to check and/or change your clutch slave unit fluid too. (HD-DOT 4 Brake fluid)
Good Luck

Since everyone who has chimed in on this one are all running different clutch set up's, I would go with syncros. The beauty of the ZF-6 is the simplicity and minimal parts compared to the Alli. For a minute I was thinking slave or finger engagement... but seems unlikely since as the different set ups have are having the same issue. I did notice when my tranny fluid was clean it did seem to engage with less force. Never did tear into the top of the gear box, so it would be interesting to see what is going on in there.
