When I'm going full out it sounds like a can of marbles being shaken. This is my first diesel. What is it?

The pilot injection is a small bit of fuel inected into the cylinder to cool it prior to the main load being delivered. This reduces the traditional diesel knock sound you hear on older diesel trucks. Hey buddy he was talking about his ford powerstroke 6.0.
