i tried some stacking tonight and when i got to number 5 and the 215 setting it started to do some cutting out , almost like you just shut it down for a second . i backed down the juice to 4 and it did not do it yet again . is this normal . what is going on when this happens ?

you're over-fueling it and running out of fuel pressure.. do a search for "bursting" and you'll see.

That stack does not work for me. Various issues but, I understand it's what Diesel Power says.

My best times are with Quad on 215 and Attitude on 0. I have not tried Quad alone yet. I tried moving Attitude up to 1 and truck had less low end on the run but mph was the same.

I tried running Quad on 110 and Attitude on 145 and Times were slower by .2 and 2 mph in the 1/8th mile. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

The newer programs don't play well together. You'll need a lift pump to help with the fuel pressure.

Does the reg juice w/*** add anything on zero, (timing)

For example quad on 215 and reg. juice w/*** on zero.

That might be the ticket for him.

Sorry, I don't know about regular juice adding timing on 0.

However, when the issue was raised about Juice giving timing on 0, no one brought up the question about hot juice vs regular juice.

how many miles on your fuel filter?

It's worth it to try a fresh filter and see if it still does it. Before adding a lift pump a filter with about 4K miles was causing my truck to lay over at the top of 4th and 5th gear at the track, but not to the point of cutting out. It wouldn't lay over with the power turned down, just with high fuel demand. If a fresh filter doesn't cure it then it's probably too much pulse being called for by the quad and amplified by the juice that the injectors can't deliver. In that case run with the quad on 215 and the juice on 90 and don't worry about it. Maybe try the quad turned down to 165 or 135 and the juice on 125, but there might be defuel in the 135 mode of the quad depending on how it was programmed. Normally defuel is standard in the 135 unless you ask for it to be removed.Edited by: mtomac

what does your truck weigh with the stock tires? With the programming you're running I've gone 12.49@106 weighing 6500#

Michael,

datsbad may have the problem I am having with stacking the new tune versions of these boxes. I suspect your Quad 215 version was an early tune. Over a year old. I keep reading the early Quad 215 version would stack with juice, but the new versions are having troubles. I have two versions of the Quad 215. One is from a January 2004 revision and the last one is only several months old. The January 2004 version would definately get the surge feeling around 80 mph while racing, when stacking with Juice on upper levels. I did not try low levels with Juice.

I have not actually tried my 145hp Juice on any level but 1 while racing with the latest 2 month old Quad tune, but one time recently at the 1/8th mile track. Resulted in no benifit. I do plan on a little more testing with stacking various combinations from these two power boxes. Edited by: gmccall
