OK Diesel Techies, here's the scenario.......



When in neutral or in gear with foot on brake I try to hold the
accelerator pedal to artificially raise the idle to around 800 RPM's
(why? because it's therehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif). The rpm's
will hold at 800 for about 3 seconds and knock down to idle speed even
though I have'nt moved the throttle position. But, if the engine
is under a little load I can hold it at the 800 mark.



Why does it do this???? I'm pretty sure this is normal - just curious as to why it does this??

Turbo Spooling up maybe?

It's almost like the engine says to itself "Hey, there's no reason to
be running at this speed because I'm not under a load so I might as
well just idle"
