I know air intakes are a sore subject around here, I wanted to buy one just to get a bit more noise from the turbo (whistle) I thought this would be ok kinda cheap and if it is no HP gain its ok as long as it whistles!

If you do get one get a good filter. Dirt will kill the motor fast. Just my thought on it! Love the turbo sound i got with my kit, people really look at "whats that whistling".

just put afe stage-2 on my 06 LBZ don't really notice much whistle out of mine. you might out of yours.

Try and get one of the old metal tube AFE kits. They seem to sing a bit more.

Beware of some kits as it may piss off the MAF sense and get you to code.

If you go with a cotton gauze filter get one of the socks or outerwears for it IMO.

Have you tried swisscheesing the facotry intake? Pics are on wackywhack.com(think thats diesel power website) or on kennedys website. I noticed a bit more noise from that. Also when I went to a cowl hood with no insulation it seemed to make more noticable noise in the cab.

I bought the K&N intake when I first got my truck. There was no change anywhere. No noise, no mpg increase. I went back stock like I should have stayed with. It went on Ebay and I got most of my money back. Try blocking the resonator. I don't know if the 01 has it or not. Some say it makes more whistle.

I did the aFe stage 2 on my 02 a little more whistle than the 06 I think.

i had that same ebay setup for a while, just the black tube and blue filter version. if you really want to hear your turbo whistle, that will work perfect. it fit great and filtered very good.
