I was just curious if it would be worth it for me to get the Hypertech Programmer III seein as how all it would do is rev higher? Or is this unsafe with the Allison?.. I already have AFE Intake and Borla dual exhaust..Any info would be very helpful!..thanks a lot..Just wonderin what else I could do to get some more ponies without spending $5K..thanks

Try a mail order tune from Wester Garage, Nelson, or PCM for less. You'll be much happier, than with a Hyperjoke.

i have a superchips programmer in my 01 and it does help, i have no experience with tunes but in my opinion there not worth the price. compared to the hypertech III i had before the superchips that there is night and day. i'd recommend the superchips before the hypertech.

I'd skip the hypertech too. While it does good things for a diesel, it really isn't worth the money in my opinion on the 8.1L. I drove one a friends truck with the hypertech and couldn't tell a difference.

With a camaro I had PCMforLess did a mail order tune for me. It was awesome! I would assume they do as nice of a tune for the 8.1L. The best part was the tune is just emailed to you (if you want) and you can download it into your truck yourself with a supplied cable, assuming you have a laptop or a desktop you can get near your truck. I had Brian @ PCMforLess tweak a few things for me after I got the tune, and he would just send me a new tune via email for me to try. It worked out great!
