A few hundred dollars for an ebay pump and your time at the low end, a little over $2000 for a new GM pump bought from and installed by a dealer.
There are options in between of course. Are you sure the pump is bad, and not just a wiring or FSD issue?

Not sure ..I am bout to buy this 95 TD from a dealer and he said it will likely need a new pump soon. I havnt looked at the truck yet. I hear there is a test I can do to see if it a bad pump?

You'd really need to know the symptoms, and DTCs (if any). There's tons of info in the FAQ section dealing with diagnosis.
I would try to get some history on the truck before jumping into what could be someone else's nightmare, but then again the PO may have been scared from internet stories, and it might have something as simple as bad grounds.

This is a one owner truck .. I have all history from new .. just an old couple that traded in for new. No 5th wheel towing either .. but 300,000 kms

Well, with that kind of kilometerage, anything could be bad, but if it still has the original injection pump it's about due.

If dealer thinks/knows the IP is bad make it a contingency for the sale that he "sweeten the sale" for a IP swap at GM cost, cash or cut in price on your buy, we can help you sort out if IP really needs replacing or something else is happening, plus a few IP gurus around that can tell you a good place North of the border where to get a good deal on IP, since you are quoting kms on odometer leads me to assume you are in "Great White North Country" it would help to confirm that if you would add that kind of stuff to your signature or profile "eah" ???,

Dealer just phoned and told me he wouldnt sell the truck cause they fund more troubles with the fuel system, There cant be too much to the fuel system can there ... what is the worst case ??? They said they replaced plugs already.

nope not much to a 6.5 system, I doubt the dealer has a good 6.5 guy and is troubleshooting by part replacement, few good 6.5 guys exist nowadays, most of dealers if they have Diesel guys are 6.6 DMAX trained

In park hold the tach at 2000 RPM....should be able to pass this test if the IP is in good shape...

I gotta tell ya, if they replaced the plugs, they definitely DON'T have a 6.5 mechanic...

And for what it's worth guys, 300,000 km is only 185,000 miles - definitely not an indicator of IP wear. Mine has about 280,000, and my speedometer reads 10% low, so I'm over that, too.

Fuel system on these is pretty simple.

Lift Pump or OPS are issues.

Fuel Filter could be an issue.

PMD is an issue. In the factory location, it's an issue EVERY TIME... chances are good that if this is a 1-owner truck, the old guy has had all the service done at GM, and they don't remote-mount the PMD. Ever. As a matter of fact, for years, they routinely changed the IP every time a PMD died ... $2000 + rather than spending $500 on a Heath PMD and having 7 years peace of mind.

Grounds are an issue.. since these things are electronically injected, often a poor ground gets mistaken as a fuel issue. 30 minutes with a wire brush and some dielectric grease has cured more fuel-system-issues than GM has.

You need more details, pal.
