Well, right now my crankcase is full of fuel, so its time for injectors. However, I have to drive home from school next week (about a 2hr drive). My plan is to change the oil before I leave and drive it home where I will take it to the dealer. If I change the oil right now, will the fuel pressure just bleed off and dump fuel back into my crankcase when my truck is off? Should I wait until right before I leave to change the oil?

Thanks for your help,

Doug

I personally wouldnt drive it too far like that, but yeah, if I was to do that I would do it right before you leave. Make sure you check up on it every 30 minutes or so and keep an eye on your oil pressure.

I just got my truck back with same problem. I would not drive it at all. get it towed to dealership, get them to pay foir it, you could damage internals of engine if you drive it with fule in crank..like bearings, pistons...ect.

A rental car and a tow are a lot cheaper than an engine...

Yeah, the more I think about it, the less I want to drive it home. My brother said he could pick me up next week with a car hauler. I knew injectors would eventually be a problem, but I didn't think it would happen this fast. I've only had this truck for a month. I brought a diesel mechanic with me when I bought the truck and there were no signs of injector problems. We even tested the oil. However, shortly after I got it, I noticed a strong smell of diesel from the exhaust, 1000 miles later white smoke and fuel in oil. Thank goodness for the extended warranty I guess. Thanks for the advice guys.
