How high should you go with egts before backing off or meltdown ?? It has Superchip , straightpipe, stock filter, and tows HEAVY loads. Thanks in advance.
Forgot to mention , Egt probe is in the exh manifold before turbo. Edited by: FASTOYS

Well...I dont let mine get over 1k b/c my EGT sensor is post-turbo....you get about a 300 degree difference....
PSD turbos are NOT recommenec to run at or above 1100 something....they tend to ment down past thathttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif.
I just keep mine out of O/D and it does fine.....you can just lift off the throttle a lil and it will cool back down too....
If you have a EGT gauge try not to run over 1k degrees.....

I agree with Strokin. much over 1050 degrees can be engine damaging. as well as this kind of heat can cause manifold cracking as well.

In my opinion 1300 is the max and only for a very brief time (1min or less). Depending on the load rpm etc. When I had dual probes (pre. & post turbo) I saw as much as 400* difference. Keep rpms up to keep air flowing, like was said about locking out the OD. I will tow big long hills at about 2400-2700rpm, forget about mph keep the engine alive, and I have not a EGT problem. Get a Tymar intake it will help with EGT's too. How heavy are your loads? If you still have the stock down pipe then that will restrict exhaust flow and cause hight EGT's as well. Get an aftermarket d/p.Edited by: Ggg6

Thanks guys , i told him to watch his EGT guage and when it gets close to 1200=1250 start backing down. And not to hold around that for any length of time. Its been working great !!!

The most I have ever encountered was gossing 26,000 over Monarch Pass,
in Colorado - I got to 1150, and stayed there... It melted the
boost guage piping, under the hood, but I have gone another 120,000
since then and it worked fine, until it destroyed a couple of injectors
this week.. :)
