I am prob in the wrong section, but can't find anything on the site about the 700R4 tr.

Maybe some bright mind can help pinpoint what is going on.:o:

lately when i am taking of with a cold engine the tranny will not shift up to second gear, when i let up on the trottle, than she shifts up.

when going about 80 to 90 km on the highway the tranny seems to shift back and forth between overdrive and drive constantly, manually shifting back to just drive makes no diff. Only when things realy warm up it seems to disappear. When i switch on cruise control the tranny behaves normal.

The oil is getting brown so something is slipping  ,but what, and what is causing it.??
Is it minor?:) ,or am i looking at an other rebuild.? :(

Tranny was rebuild about 90.000 km ago. is in 89 see signature

Any idea's anyone????

Binding or worn TV (throttle valve) cable. If it's original, it's worn out. Proper adjustment is critical to transmission life, and perfomance. It's been way too long for me to help with your replacement, though. Maybe someone else will chime in.

You have metal grindings in the trans and TV valve is hanging up. Next symptom is no shift period. Pull the pan and check for metal contamination. Cable does not care if it's hot or cold; it either works or it doesn't.

The tv cable seems to be working fine, I checked. :D

I'll have to drop the pan anyway to change oil, i"l check for metal.
If there is, probably means rebuild right. Grrrr, not that many mls on it.
