All ride on bumpers.
A few turns gets them up and levels the truck some.

sc3283,
If you don't like the work 'those quality UAW workers' put out, go buy
a Japanese one ton truck. . . Until then, there are a lot of people on
here that ARE quality UAW workers (as was my Dad). . . let's not bite
the hand that feeds thee.
Thanks,
Dennis

They are set by a computerized machine for that particular vehicle, be it a 1-ton, 3/4 ton, or a 1/2 ton.
But I wonder why I should even acknowledge your inquiry with a comment like that! I happen to be a proud UAW member! And whether you think so or not, we do our very best to turn out quality! That's the difference between us having jobs and not having jobs! If you don't like it, go buy a Honda!!! You may lose some towing and hauling capacity though!

Easy guys, not trying to start any arguements here. Its common knowledge that the assembly line workers do create many of the problems that the skilled laborers have to repair out in the field. There aren't many of you here that have not had some sort of assembly problems that had to be corrected by us dealer techs at the retail levels. Not in anyways sayin the UAW workers are bad......there are good and bad...........just as the techs in the fields.Edited by: sc3283

I can't believe I missed this one......I don't think they were hard enough on you.
Fact of the matter is...you have no idea what goes on inside an assembly plant. You have Engineers that are over paid and never worked a day in there life try to tell you how something should work just because it looks good on paper. Let me tell you, you may think the guy on the job isn't smart or educated or whatever....but I can guarantee he is better at his operation than you....when a guy does something 300-400 times a day, you don't have too much choice but to be good at it. Back to the Engineer and the corporate way of thinking.....continue shopping suppliers to get the cost even farther down while the quality of the product suffers and wizzards such as yourself blame it on the installer.....could we do the same to a dealer tech ...ABSOLUTELY.
We had an issue here last year where they changed suppliers on the B-pillar.....FYI it is the molding that covers the column just behind the front seat.....got these great new parts in, fit was OK, cost was down.....great right, WRONG. Put the vehicle outside in the 100* heat they started warping and pulling away from the body.....I guess by the time it got to the dealer, you would have blamed it on the guy that installed it. And it is Quantity....the big cheese sitting in the office wants his big bonus.

I'd be curious how many come backs you have had as a tech...

I realize you tried to justify what you said with a "you didn't mean it that way". Some of us take it personal, not to mention you catch more flies with honey. The first comment from you with less than ten posts and you are already negative and making accusations.
This board has a lot of members with more knowledge than you could imagine, especially since you've shown your ignorance in this thread. My advice to you would be to post less and read more.....there is plenty to be learned here.
