I have 1800 miles on my 05 and towed my first load with it. AWESOME! I was very impressed with the allison and the stock power of the D-max. I can imagine what this thing will tow like once I put a juice on it.

I noticed you are not new to this forum, so you are likely aware of the LLY overheating issue several guys have posted. Seems to happen moreso under heavy loads in hot temps. What do you tow? Like you I am very impressed with the Allison tranny's fluid shifts, grade braking, etc. I tow heavy (18k lb 5ver) and my truck snatches it up very well, no overheating issues so far (knock on wood). Enjoy the new truck. Look forward to seeing future posts as you mod that bad boy!
