Has anyone started running LED lights for tail, turn, parking, backup lights? Is it worth the conversion to these types?

I considered doing this but after seeing Hoots dodge there is barely a difference in tail lamps and brake lights applied at night. If not for the high third brake light it might be dangerous. Unless Hoot has a reason why,I'm not interested.

I, too, saw only a small difference in brightness on the LED-equipped big rigs with LEDs. I guess long life is a benefit?

Long life is the advertised benefit. When I bought my trailer,
they advertised that the LED ones would last something like 25 times
longer than normal bulbs. They are more expensive, but not 25
times more expensive. . .

i bought some drl ones amber at that. they might of lasted 2 months maybe. one of them burned out 3 little lights the other only had 3 left. but how ever they were very cheap!! very narrow viewing angle at that

MAC is right.



I have since installed better ones. The old ones only had leds facing
rearward. The new bulbs I just got also have LEDs in a circular pattern
around the back. This helps bounce light off the inner reflector of the
lens. It's better now but could still be better.
