O.k. got frustrated with my truck today and just happend to be next to a Ford dealer so I decided to go look at the 05's then after that test drive decided to go look at the GMC's. Trucks were both C/C 4x4 leather with lots of options. The Ford had a sunroof and power rear window "back glass on the two that are attached to the rear doors." The GMC feels smaller to me but I liked it better. Actually if it would have had a sunroof and extendable tow mirrors I would have traded. I like the allison it down shifts even when it is not in tow hall. I don't think the truck turns as tight as the ford but don't really care. I like the way the bottom of the seat moves independent of the back. I think after January I will have to go get me a GMC. Does any body know what is planned for 06 should I wait a few more months or just get an 05?

The 05s have just come out, It will be about 10 months before you see a 06. how did the motors compare?
Sunroofs are supposed to be available for 1st quarter '05 production if that's what is holding you back...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Well the two engines were very different. The 6.0 drove more like a gasser didn't have a lot of go untill the engine got some rpm's up. the GMC appeared to pull steady from bottom to top. the 6.0 has a lot more on the top end. At 55 you stomp the go peddle and the 6.0 takes off. The Duramax just felt like it didn't have a whole lot left above 60. I am not saying it won't go faster it is just the Ford screamed from 55 up. If you have a load you need the bottom grunt could care less about going fast.

My 2005HD GMC CC SLT D/A should be delivered this week. I ordered it back in August and it was shipped on 09/30. I can't wait to get it. One reason that I know of to get a '05 - several magazines have shown pictures of the supposed '06 Sierra. It has a HUGE front grill. It is massive - not unlike what Dodge and Ford SD have done. I don't care for these "Class 8" truck looks that Dodge and Ford have gone to. But it looks like GM is going the same way. I guess the success of the Ford SuperDuty has gotten GM's attention.
With the above being said, I am sure that the new '05 Ford SuperDuty is one heck of a truck. I am already seeing alot of them on the street. A Ford salesman told my brother that he cannot keep a diesel SuperDuty on the lot. Our local dealer has nothing but gassers and only a handful at that.
Still, I can't wait for my GMC to come in this week.
