did a little research, and from what i can understand, is that the HO was a 24v and it was 305(bhp) and 2900rpm, and the 12v was 235(bhp) and from reading i belive the HO was only avaible in the 6spds......not for sure but go here to find out more.....http://www.allpar.com/model/ram/specs.html

HO's were only available in 6 speeds, galley cooled pistons, different tuning and were only 24 valves.

In 01 they were all 24V engines, like already stated different pistons and tuning. The HO motor was only available with the 6 speed NV5600 tranny as well.

!!!!!!!! Not correct. the 305/555 is the 2003-2004 HPCR Trucks!!!!!!!!

ETH DEE (Dodge Order Code) trucks AKA HO's Were hooked to a 6 speed manual and were rated at 265 HP.

ETC's SO's were 235HP (49 state) and 215 (Kalifornia) on the VP-44 Trucks.

Different VP-44. Tuning was the same other than the HO's got more injection advance

SO VP-44's had lower pressure, and higher volume. HO VP-44's had lower volume and higher pressure.

Typically guys pick up 15-25HP when they strap on an SO VP-44 to a HO motor.

Not to be nit-picky, but I think you mean 245 HP. :)

Ha, ya beat me to it, yep the HO was 245/505 and the SO was 235/460 (I think). I traded one in for my Chevy, great truck, kind of miss it.
