I did a lot (more than 15 years) in years past but have not now for about 9 years. What is your question?

It is not cheap and you might consider moving it yourself as horse
trailer thoguh heavy for the their size generally pull well and are
reasonably priced used usually. The fall/early winter would be a good
time to do it to stress wise for horse. I have seen people have good
and bad luck with horse transporters so I would tend to advise against
it. When I lived in Montana in the 90's I new someone that paid over
1500 to shipp a horse from back east to there and it took nearly a
month for it to get there and was in poor condition when it got
there. That is just my two cents anyway.

My wife has been around a number of people that have had horses shipped. Her guess was $900 for a horse from conn to tx. It can be hard on the horse because the drivers don't give horses the chance to rest much. How many horses? Do you have your own trailer? Maybe buy one, drive your horses to tx and sell it.

If you got the trailer... I'll pull it for you!

You can even ride with me and the horse can take as many brakes as you want!

This is true, they pretty much treat them like cattle. If you really
are attached to your horses, I would get a used trailer to get them
done there and sell it (or keep it if you want) when you get there
because even if you lost 500 on the deal when you resold trailer you
would be money ahead.

yea but the problem is I dont have anything to pull a trailer, nor do i have the funding to buy a trailer right now.

If you don't have anything to pull a trailer, then just ride the horse down. . . http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif

I'd take Gradyghost up on his offer. You buy the trailer, he
tows, when you get there, sell the trailer. . . Everybody wins.

I am in the show cattle business and have never had any problems with getting my cattle across the country. The outfit I use charges about $1.75 per loaded mile and they are well worth it when you think about the value of you animals. If you would like to talk to me about helping you get them there just pm me

Lawrence did you see this request about the horses? This is the type of thing I mentioned in my note to you. But they changed the system up the day after I posted it. So you and I both may have missed it.

What is the going rate on horses? It is 1.75 @ mile on show cattle. Had to edit, i missed it a nickel.
