Well alrighty then...
... on a number of occasions when the pressing need arises to have ones right foot firmly planted onto/into the fuel pedal, I have noticed a distinct laaaaaaag in the response time - yes.??
I suspect: Dirty fuel filter (although the DIC reads still 32% left)...about 10000 miles on it and I fuel from one good source: Biggest Flying J in Calgary, or I just do not have a good enough/strong enough fuel pump..?? or the pump is on it's last legs..or some other thing I do not yet understand..??
BTW: I am assuming that a "fuel pump" is the same as a "lift pump"..??
I am also thinking that by adding a Nictane in the future to help keep fuel super clean, it (lag time), will actually get worse due to added restriction/increase in pressure due to said restriction.
sooo, How does one rectify and eliminate the response time lag in WOT fueling..?
Thank you,
stk
Guys ...apologies. I just realized by assident, I posted in the wrong sub forum. SB in Fuel etc.
If a mod reads this, please move to appropriate forum. Tks.

Is the tune stock? I didnt see any programmer in your signature.

A lift pump is a fuel pump, but not stock on our trucks. A Lift pump is installed in the supply line and assists your stock belt driven pump. I had the lag problem with my LBZ at 4K, Changed out the filter and she came back to life. Looks like I picked up some crap fuel somewhere.

Could be fuel filter. Have you shimmed the fuel pressure relief valve? That could be a factor.
Sometimes a lift pump is necessary, depending on how much power you're making. You could be at that point.

I have noticed this pretty bad on a work truck at my work (06 dmax) it even does it with a new fuel filter. I thought it was in the gm tuning. I noticed it the most while doing about 60-75 if you mash the peddle it will lay over for a second then take off. Maybe it could just be the truck downshifting from sixth to fourth to?

Every LBZ that I had driven has this. It is better to roll into the throttle than to mash it. I think when you mash it at highway speeds, a signal is sent to the tranny to downshift, but because it's downshifting the TCM commands the ECM to defuel to prevent slipping the tranny (which could be a serious hazard while on the highway). Once the tranny shifts, the fuel is then reapplied. Before I blocked the EGR I would notice a lack of smoke when I mashed it and boost dropped considerably until it shifted and started adding fuel again....

You know guys, I guess that after a while I have learned to roll into it as well and after reading some other posts/threads this is what the guys/gals are saying.
Leadfoot: your comments make total sense..defuel during down shift to prevent tranny damage. That is a good thing and decent engineering by GM. I can live with the lag and learn to work through it...blowing my ally would have repurcusions on my wallet that none of us needs..!! :D
thanx for those comments and insight.!

turbo lag .........impossible for a turbo to give "instant" power like a supercharger can

Doubt its in need of a shim. JMO

Its not turbo lag....its in the programing. JMO Turbo lag will hurt your initial reponse but its not whats happening in this case although it may make it feel a tad worse.

change the filter and see what happens. we see alot of response complaints here. also when adding the extra filter you should not have any problems with running out of fuel. unless your running other programs.
