i was wondering if Gm is thinking about putting the duramax motor in the suburbans like the good old days?

There have been rumors since 2001. Who knows when or what engine though.

Yeah, been hearing the rumors for both the Sub and the Avalanche for years. I hear the problem is the Allison, and the Suburban frame. Not enough room. I wouldn't hold your breath, even with fuel prices, wars over oil etc... it would make perfect sense. More diesel vehicles are coming, but I think the American manufacturers are gonna be dragged into it kicking and screaming

If the allison were the underlying problem it would already have happened because they have the 4L80E mated to the DMax in the vans.

I think a D/A Avy would be an awesome daily driver.
