After reading others post about bubbles in the moldings, I looked at mine, and sure enough, there they were. Four moldings, four air bubbles, and one side matched the other side perfectly... hmmmm strange. Why didn't I see them when I first got the truck? Went back to the dealer, pointed them out and he ordered all new moldings. Finally got them replaced yesterday.

For anyone else getting this done, we pretty much proved what is doing it. On the back side of the molding is a part number sticker. Four moldings, four air bubbles, and four matching stickers on the inside. So now the SM and I discuss the physics of the sun heating and cooling those moldings. Yeah, whatever! The bubble don't belong there whatever caused them.

New moldings are on, and no stickers on the inside. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif And so far, no sun, raining again. Time will tell. At least after all the time I've been lurking here, and everything I've learned from the vast amount of knowledge here, I can add my 0.02 worth as a partial payback. Hope this helps someone else also.

Just had the same thing done on mine Mike...The funny thing is that in the bulliten, they don't include the black textured moldings (all of the color coded moldings are listed) Well, me textured moldings had the same problem..As long as the truck is under warranty and you have a decent dealer, they will replace them.

And speaking of that molding issue, here's the story about when they came to pick up my truck to do the work:

Pam (gal in the body shop) calls me and says the parts are in..Hmmm I work six days a week, so I can't just drive it down there..She said they would come pick it up..fine with me....Two guys show up, I point to the truck, tell him the keys are in it, and go back inside...watch him try to leave....truck seems to be laboring something fierce...walk outside to the end of parking lot...open door...(he's still in the truck with a perplexed look on his face) I release the parking brake for him http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif....He then proceeded to stall my truck 4 times...then, backs it up my driveway and says he can't drive a stick....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif I roll my eyes and look at my delivery driver and ask if he thinks he can drive it...of course he can....So, I tell him to drive the truck to the dealership, and I give the keys to the delivery car to the clown from the dealership...I asked if he thought he could figure out an automatic car...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif Oh well, just a word to the wise if any of you have to take your truck in for service and you have a manual trans...make sure they send someone that can drive it!

Very good advice, I was wondering about the lumps in the side moldings. The air bubbles make a lot of sense. Thanks for putting the post up.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif Edited by: 04DMCC4X4

What's a 'manual trans'?

It can't be that hard to drive can it?

dmax tim ---ZF6.......you know, six speed manual......has a clutch and
a lever.....*laughs* I have zero problems driving it......the clown
said "I can drive a car with a stick, but not a truck" I couldn't
believe it......Hell, it flat out amazed me that he couldn't drive a
stick shift vehicle.....
