This is the first Chevy vehicle I've ever owned what have I been missing. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

For the past 5 years or so I had a Dodge with the Cummins 4X4 and thought it ruled the roost, boy was I wrong. This new Silverado LT with all the bells and whistles including the D/A combo is the RULER over all that is suppose to be good in truck land.

One thing that I've noticed is there are a lot of people discussing problems with their diesel, however one thing I've also noticed is hardly anyone complaining about their GM TRUCK experience.

Thanks to:
Chevy-Duramax-Allision for building a fine vehicle, and The Diesel Place for opening everything up for discussion.

Did you think we were lying to you all along? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif

You will always see a lot problems being discussed on the forums. That is why the majority of the people are here is to find solutions to their problem. In reality it is a pretty small percentage of people who have problems. Unfortunately bad word spreads quicker then good word.

With that said, I love my truck! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

I have an '05 LS, I couldn't get 6 passenger seating with the LT. The LS has a split bench in front which I needed due to all these little people living with me.

I agree, I should have gone diesel long ago. The truck is gorgeous and powerful. My wife had a little heartburn after we bought it though. I picked it up in Sandy, OR. with about 22 miles on it. I drove it almost straight across the street to a tire store and had bigger tires put on it. They gave me $200 for the stock tires, pretty good deal. So with new tires and my wife calmed down, we had a nice drive home!

Check out the Silverado D/A poll from about 2 weeks ago. Over 90% of D/A owners rate them above average to outstanding. Like MaxPower said most of the guys that post on here are either trying to resolve problems or helping others solve theirs.

All trucks have their issues. All in all I'm extremely please with my truck. Enjoy! JJ http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

I've owned 4 Chevrolet trucks in the last 10years and have, obviously, been more that happy with each. All they need is good maintenance and they will take good care of you. All of them have been maintained 100% stock and I believe that is one of the reasons for the good reliable service they have given me. You'll enjoy your new acquisition.
