A buddy of mine is telling me he just got a 1997.5, which was supposed
to come with 290 hp. I wanted to call BS but i just wasn't totally
sure. I won't be in town until next week so i haven't seen it yet.



Did ford make a 1997.5 model.



I thought the HP ratings for those trucks was around the 220-240 fhp range.



He's also insisting it's a 7.5 and not a 7.3.



Is there any truth to this? or is he smokin too much peyote?

Sounds like the rating of the 460 big block for 97.. NOT a diesel..

that's what i was starting to think, but he is still insisting it is a diesel. I'll see it friday and know for sure.

I talk to my ford dealer just this morning and they told me there never was such a motor.

7.5 liter is a gasser, 215 is the h/p on a 97 PSD. They did not make a 97.5 F250, or 350. Ford jumped the entire 98 model year, so there were 97's and then the SD body style came out for 99.
