: Rattling, knocking, rough idle....

Hey all,
I need some help and advice. My 05 LLY with 32k on it just started running really rough especially when I am towing and stop to gas up, restart and accellerate. It's running really rough, knocks all the way up to around 30 mph and then it runs pretty smooth once I get up and running.
I just took it to the dealer and dropped it off. I have a Banks Six Gun programmer. Right away the service tech said that if the Injectors are bad, I am responsible. He also said that with these programmers pushing the hp they are, they cause little tiny holes in the pistons because of the high pressure or hp or something like that. And of course if that's causing these problems I am again responsible (completely expected, but I want anyone who's dealt with this to give me some advice if you wouldn't mind).
Initially I thought I had water in my gas, did the diesel 911 but did not replace the fuel filter. That hasn't helped.
What should I do. Anyone know what the problem is? How can I get the dealer to hold up any/all on their end?

Thanks for you help all.

Mine did the same thing and a healthy dose of conditioner cleared it up. Should change the filter too. Probably some bad fuel.

Thanks for the replies fellas.
I have questions on both replies....
When you say use a better "additive that has a good lube and cetane increaseer", or a "healthy dose of conditioner", what exactly are you referring to?
I will definately replace the filter. But please clarify and I'm sorry if I'm coming off as an idiot here....

Also, bennypavy, any updates for what?

Thanks again guys

I mix half of a small bottle of Marvel Mystery Oil and half a bottle of Stanadyne in every fillup.

You also might check your wiring harness, do a search on this site for more info on the wiring harness problems .

Was the original issue ever solved? My truck (2005 LLY w/28k miles) has recently started these exact symptoms, and I'm 100% stock.

Kinda sounds like it could be injector connectors to me.
