I have one-year old Rancho RS9000X shocks on my Silverado 3500. Looking
at them recently I noticed cracked bushings on the front shocks.Anyone
else seen this ?

Rancho has said that they will replace the shocks under warranty. I am
very disappointed to have so much rust and to have the shocks fail
after one year of very light use.

Any one looking to buy Ranchos should have a look at this picture first. I wish had bought Bilsteins.

That is called over tightened bolts, simple as that. Is the sleeve inside the bushings too short?

Not positive why the bushing cracked. I'll be having a talk with the shop that installed them about that.

The thing that really worries me is the rusting of the weld betweens
the eyelets and the shocks. I checked the rears and they are also
rusting through at the same place.

Anyone else with Rancho shocks should crawl down and make sure that your shocks are not failing in the same place.

Road Salt or deicing chemicals from the roadway? Picture shows rust on the brackets also.

In Western Canada, everything gets exposed to road de-icer. Not as bad
as in the US Northeast, but still unavoidable. Never seen anything rust
as quickly as the Ranchos. Must be related to paint type or quality.
We'll see if the new batch is better.
