I added a vent hose kit to my fuel tank that allows me to truly top off
my tank. Not a fill speed issue but a capacity issue. Seems you can't
get much more than 26 gallons in this 34 gallon tank.
After the vent mod, I just put 33 gallons in today for a whopping $71.

I did take pics but I screwed up the directions so I don't want anybody to make the mistakes I made.
It is a bit involved....

Damn dude, that's expensive go-juice!! When I ran my 34 gallon tank dry, I pumped 41 gallons into it. Run some more out next time. :) Just take a spare can in case you run out. I was able to run like 100 past the DTE going to zero.

btw, did you have the same problems getting that connector apart that I did? I was wedged between the 5" pipe and the drive shaft trying to get up there to get it apart. Took over five minutes.
I beleive you on the 40+. There is a good bunch still in there even at empty.
Yea the electrical connector was tricky. I found that squeezing the tab
in front and pushing from behind with a socket/extension pops it right
off.
The real problem I had was the bulkhead fitting/o-ring setup. I don't
like it. Lose the o-ring and use a flat washer of some sort. The o-ring
squeezed on me while the locktite set up. I ended up slopping sealant
around the whole thing thinking the underside probably has it sealed
enough.
So far so good. If I need to fix it later I know how now. No biggy.

Is that a second vent line? Not familiar with how the tank is set up and it looks like there is another (factory?) vent fitting at the other end of the tank.
If that's a second vent then it's getting out an air lock from the high side of the tank.
My tank, stock, has taken 32 gal. on a normal fill. Late tow one night and I was too lazy to stop and turn on the bed tank. Expected to run out but didn't. Surprised my short bed took so much and didn't know others have had a problem with filling. Mine takes big nozzles at a fast flow with no problems.

I had the same problem with the o-ring on mine. I'm just keeping an eye on it to see if it starts leaking.
capt -- It's a second vent line in the high part of the tank (near the rear) that splices into the vent line near where it connects to the filler tube.
I installed one of these a couple months ago. It used to take me about 10 or so minutes to top off my tank, but now (assuming I get a descent pump) it only takes about 20 or 30 seconds to top it off. Well worth the $40 IMO.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

Now I want one! Except, being me, I'm afraid to touch my truck until the warranty expires on it. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif
Oh well, I guess for now I'll just live with it as-is. I think so far the most amount of fuel I've put in is 25 gallons.
Hoot: That's a lot for diesel! Yikes! Glad I don't have to pay quite that much.

I got it to hoot. Its awesome now. Before it would take like 8-10 minutes to get it full. now it clicks off, 2-3 tenths of a gallon and I see the fuel in the neck and im gone.

I did the same mod. I can get almost 42 gal in there. Great
mod. should be a factory item. Defently a must do for those out there.<!--
