I just picked up a 02 dmax with 80k miles and was wondering if there was any way to have GM replace the injectors now. I am not having any issues but due to the number of failures i would like to replace them BEFORE an issue occurs. what do you think? Is there anyway for me to convince them to do this warrenty work now?

thanks

There is no way you will get them to change them under warranty if they are still good. Heck, some guys have trouble getting them replaced under warranty when they do fail. It all depends on the dealer, but they have to fail for reasons specified in the injector warranty bulletin in order for them to be covered under the extended warranty. If you aren't having any problems, don't even worry about it. You could have a good set. There are some guys out there with +150k on their original set. I have an 01' with about 70k on original injectors and my warranty is coming to an end soon so I plan to have a balance test done before it expires just to be sure they aren't going bad. If you are worried, i would find out when your warranty expires and have a balance test done before it expires. (7 yrs from date put into service/200,000 miles) I hope this helps.

I don't think so? If it ain't broke don't fix it?
