Running the edge on 3/5 this morning coming to work. Turn onto a highway that was a little damp from the rain last night and just messing around, I get on it pretty good, not WOT, but pretty good. Pulled good for a bit, then when i reached 2000 rpms, that all she would do. Would not go over 2000 RPMS. Dont have my code reader with me so I'll check it when I get home tomorrow. I was only a mile from the plant so I didn't stop and cycle the key to try and reset. I'm assuming I limped it, but I got NO CEL at all. As hard as I am on the stock tranny, I figured it was only a matter of time, but I thought I would at least get a CEL when it happened.

Dont sound like the tranny to me. Hard to tell without the codes.

I'll pull the edge before I go to lunch and see if is related to that. I hadn't had any problems with it so far, but you never know.

A trans limp doesn't limit your engine speed to 2000 RPM. It just limits what range you're in. Sounds like the engine went into a protection mode.

Doesn't sound like a tranny limp. Sounds like an Engine limp. When was your last fuel filter change? No CEL?

Just changed the fuel filter about 1K miles ago. Been filling from the same tank as allways at the farm. In the last mile I drove, it seemed to run fine up to 2000 rpms, but that was it. That's the thing I can't figure out, I didn't even get a CEL light????

Went for a drive during lunch today. Cycled the key a few times before I left. Pull out on the highway and everything runs fine. Plug the edge back in and all is well. Not sure what happened, but curious to see what codes were thrown.

you probably had a p1093, low rail pressure. quick romps usually will throw this code. most times there wont be check engine light.
