yikes. i've had my lbz for 2 weeks, and can't understand how the dic is showing me over 16 mpg. coming from an 05 6.0 gasser, it's very, very difficult to keep right foot from pressing more & more on the "gas" pedal; the truck keeps wanting more & more. luckily i have no tickets yet, but the urge to mash that pedal is a real challenge to overcome. :)

Mileage should get a little better with time, I know that I just hit 12K and mine is slowly getting better.

I'm in the same boat, I just traded my '05 6.0 in on an '07 LBZ. I find myself using the speed control to keep from getting a ticket. I'm also averaging around 16 MPG around town, it's only got 500 miles on it.

i changed the factory 245's for some 255/85/16's at about 50 miles, gutted the cat at 175 miles and now with 1800 miles my average is about 13.2.. Keep telling myself it will get better.!!!!

The one scenario that kills the fuel ecomony in these trucks is messing with the tire size. I don't like the cookie cutter tires either but I know changing the tires will make me lose the 16 town/20 highway I've been getting.

I was thinking by staying with a tire that was the same width as the factory 245's i wouldnt hurt mileage. We'll see what i think in another 10,000 miles..!!

I hate to compare trucks, but my last superduty got a very consistent 17-18MPG with 285's,,and that was a much bigger truck.! I am sure after 15,000 or so the duramax will get much better..

I went to 265's and the milage changed a little but i will stick with them. I am still getting 16-19 around town, 12-14 when towing. Havent been on a trip in a while so i cant tell how the peak milage was effected.
