I noticed today that I have a hissing noise coming from my the drivers side of the engine somewhere. I couldn't find out exactly. The question is, has anyone had a vacuum leak on these engines, and if so where was it? I am not sure if that is what it is, it just sounds like it.

The engine is not stumbling really, or idleling high or anything like that. At first I thought it was the fuel pump, but it is around the engine.

Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks.

You might check the hydro-boost accumulator, I believe that it sits on the driver's side of the top end. It has a seal that is known to go bad, mine was replaced under recall. In theory, it helps generate pressure for the brakes and a leak in pressure should make your brake pedal a little soft. Never noticed a difference on mine before or after it was replaced, though. Just a random thought. Take care.

That sounds like maybe thats it. It seems to be around the drivers side. I should probably take it to the dealer, since it has only 13K.
I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks.

Some GM steering pumps make a hissing noise, makes it a real bear when trying to find an actual vacuum leak
