: Memory seat question

Just got my new truck last week. The memory seats are not working in
the same way then in the Avalanche I have traded in. The memory
function is NOT assigned to an individual key but must be recalled from
the no. 1 or no. 2 button in the door.

With the Avalanche all functions are coded into each key, so no need to
press the button in the door. Has the truck again less features then
the Avalanche had or is something wrong with my programming/ memory
function? The manual does not mention the assignment to the keys.

Thanks for your help

I don't think it assigns it to the key but it does to the key fob. Or at least in my truck, when you you use the #1 or#2 key fob (remote) it changes.

Thanks!

I should have been more specific, of course it should assign the
settings to the remote and not the key (which is just a piece of
metal). Looks like for 2005 this feature is no more existing or
something is wrong with mine.

Mine can be set by either the remote, the key, or the drivers buttons on the door. The remote and key are each selectable options on my DIC set up. If you don't have the full DIC, Check your owners manual can't imagine things are that much different, but perhaps...

If you have the DIC check to make sure that the functions are turned on by scrolling through them.

I had similar problems with my seats even with the functions enabled in the DIC and it took a reflash at the dealer to get them to work properly. Strange, yes, but the dealer said they had about 10 or 15 trucks in a two month period that had the same problems.

Thanks all!

Looked at the DIC and manual. No function to set. Looks like GMC got rid of it for the 2005s, bad news for me.

Anybody there with a 2005 with the same problem?
