I was wondering if anybody has a locking gas cab for a LMM? I called the dealer the other day and they didn't have one and didn't see one coming down the pipe.
They could only offer the idea "maybe you should try aftermarket". (Thanks guys wouldn't have figured that one out by the way).
But with fuel prices going up I think its a wise investment. So anybody got a link? I've also got an 06 Duramax, not sure which motor, but its 360hp model.
Thanks,

I was looking for mine also, I wonder if they are the same fuel doors on the new Denali and Escalade. I can't see GM making to many different fuel doors. If you want just a locking cap not fuel door, you can pick one up almost anywhere because the cap is universal to most vehicles.

Gas cap and diesel cap are different thread, believe it or not... Personally, I'd go with the locking fuel door over the cap- if you push down hard enough and force, you can unscrew a locking cap without much trouble... just too small a lock with too much leverage.

I stand corrected. I should not assume things. Thanks

My locking cap was made by Delphi and looks stock - except for the lock of course. I have a 06. If you can find out if the 06 and 07 gas caps are the same, then it should work on yours. Price was around $14 with shipping.
BTW: I didn't put it on to keep someone from stealing my fuel - I put it on to keep some one from putting gas in by mistake.

I presume you are trying to prevent someone from "borrowing" diesel from your truck. But I believe that the filler neck has a baffel that prevents a siphon hose from being fully inserted. At least that's the way it is on my Suburban (much to my dismay once when I needed some of my OWN fuel).

Well, I think there are multiple advantages to having a locking gas cap or door.
1) Theft of your fuel becomes more difficult - there are easier targets out there. (Hey $3.00 per gallon @ 46 Gallons is almost $150.00)
2) Make sure you're the only one filling it up, I don't need an employee dropping gas into my tank because he wasn't paying attention.
3) Keeps kids (or pissed of employees) from putting anything in your tank.

Do a search for a local auto supplier that carries "stant" - that's what I put on mine

I bought a universal rv door lock and installed on the fuel door, works great. Was an easy install just drill a hole and insert lock cylinder, they come in different lengths also.

x2... definately a smart idea. however if you travel to places like NJ where you aren't allowed to pump your own fuel this becomes a PITA :o:

Not really - just put the key on a quick release connect on your key ring - or carry a spare in the counsel.
