I have the Hydrostar HBA10 electronic brake system on a 2006 heritage boat trailer and my new 2007.5 chevy 2500 HD factory controller will not operate it. all connections are good and the unit is slightly clicking while connected, but no braking and the vehicle does not recognise the electric trailer brake is connected on the dash display. The Hydrostar indicates that not all brake controllers will be compatible. WTF is up w/ this?? any ideas?

Check to see if you are getting regulated voltage coming out your trailer plug .

Also compare a 7 pin wiring diagram to your trailer's 7 pin. Could be that the wires are NOT lining up? A break controller is a break controller... they work of regulated volatge don't see how one would work and another wouldn't. Some extra "special" connection besides the 7 pin?

I think there is something in the DIC about enabling the Brake Controller. I think I saw something while fidling in my dad's truck

Well, did you get it to work; if so, what was it?
