: Transfer case leaking oil?

Ok, below are a couple photos from underneath my dmax. I noticed oil residue on the back of the transfer case, no actual leaking. Just accumulating. Is this a sign of a seal going bad?

I am planning on going to the dealer for some warranty work and will mention it to them, but my hunch is they'll say its "normal use". Has anyone else experienced anything along this same line?

Second, I am used to seeing writing on used parts or replacement parts from a junkyard, but not "stock" parts.....is this normal writing for the Allision? I ask because I purchased this truck with 7k on it. It currently has 27k.

For those who care, here is a photo of my oil drain valve install.

looks like a seal failing.....that is exceeding seapage. and i have seen similar markings on other DMAX's.

I got writing and marks all over my truck. Looks like some sort of quality control marking. Things like a line by a bolt or fitting, that sort of stuff.

I took the truck into the dealer the other day for some warranty work. I had them take a look at the leak.

The service sheet says:

Raised vehicle found flulid at rear of trans, cleaned off and installed dye in trans. Drove vehicle and rechecked for leak. No sign of leak at this time, customer needs to bring vehicle back later for inspection of leak.

What kind of dye would they use? It had to be enough that they could see it, or that with a special light they could see it. PN of the dye is: 12345795

Photos from them "cleaning it afterwards below.
