You can see my setup below, I have a buddy with almost the identical setup. For some reason, my check engine light comes on everytime i crank my truck cold and start driving it. If it's warmed up, I shut it off, run in somewhere, then crank up and go again it usually doesn't come on. It's really gotten the best of me and is driving me up the wall to have to clear that stupid thing every time I drive. My buddy with same setup (less the PPE boost controller) never does it. Mine did it even before the PPE Boost.

Anyone got a clue as to how I can make this go away, FOREVER???

I thoght at one point finger stick and blocker plate was the answer, then I read different. Confused.

WAIT - could it be the K&N aftermarket filter I put in there???

I'm surprised you're getting that code from a drop-in filter (I assume that's what you have since you don't have an intake kit listed on your mod list.). I kept getting this code after I installed an AEM Workhorse intake kit. AEM has since received it and is working on a fix (something about where the MAF sensor is located). As soon as I installed the factory setup and cleared the code, the light hasn't come back on since. Put your stock filter back in and I bet it won't come back either.

It worked!!!!! Put the paper AC Delco paper filter in and haven't had a problem since!!!!! Talked to a mechanic there and he said they see a duramax a week with the same problem.

If you want to have a re-usable filter/intake I highly recommend Banks, I guess unlike the others they design and engineer theres correctly. I have had NO cel's with there system and neither has a couple others I know.

I'm guessing it's on the intake somewhere?

It is located on the top of the intake tubing just after the airbox assembly. It has a harness with two wires that plugs into it.

I don't know if this is much help but I just installed a S&B cold air intake kit to my truck "2005 GMC K2500HD w/ Duramax" & I didn't even get 6 miles of driving "25mph at that" & I got the P0101 code with my Tech 2.
I checked SI & found this bulletin.

Subject:Duramax Diesel with a P0101 after ECM Reflash - keywords 6.6L air black box calibrate calibration flash idle intake LLY MAF PCM program programming P0299 smoke start startup #PIP3855 - (07/11/2006)

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
<A href="http://service.gm.com/servlets/BlobShtml?ShtmlFile=1846725&psdid=1058&evc=sm#ss1-1846725">Condition/Concern:

After programming the ECM on a 2004-2005 Duramax Diesel, a DTC P0101 may set right after start-up, or while driving.
<A href="http://service.gm.com/servlets/BlobShtml?ShtmlFile=1846725&psdid=1058&evc=sm#ss2-1846725">Recommendation/Instructions:

During a ECM replacement, or a calibration software update, there is a selectable engine calibration.
The two selections are:
<LI type=1>A Rectangular Air Cleaner Housing Calibration ID # 15879103
A Cylindrical Air Cleaner Housing Calibration ID # 25779295The incorrect calibration will induce a DTC P0101 and excessive exhaust smoke. Turbo boost trouble codes may also be found.
The dealer should verify which air cleaner housing is on the vehicle, and make sure the correct engine calibration selection is made.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

so ofcorse I reprogramed the ECM to the 25779295 calibration but I still had the code.
Come to find out that the sealing gasket that is supplied with the kit wasn't sufficient & I made my own out of some foam seal that is made to keep camper shells from scratching the beds of the trucks & as a fore thought I cleaned the sensors with some rubbing alcohol & Q-tip "very gently, old school fix when these sensors first came out."

Today I have driven a total of 639.4 miles & have yet to have the code come back "carried my Tech 2 with me & checked 4 different times today" & my truck responds a whole lot better than before I had done the conversion.

Hope that any of this information is helpful.
