Hi,

My drivers door speaker (2003 silverado LS ext cab) went toes up on me. Sounds like the paper cone is shredded. As an old guy that only listens to talk radio, I have no idea how that happened either!

My questions are

How do you gain access to the door speakers? I don't want to damage the door panel (like I used to do on old muscle cars in my youth)

What speakers can be cheaply installed to upgrade the sound quality?

You have to pull the door panel to get at the speakers. Unless you're looking to uprade all your speakers, I would just order a new one from the dealer. They weren't very expensive last I checked.

OK, Do I just yank at it or what?

a couple of screws, the panel around the door handle, and slide up to unclip the harnesses to the window and lock controls
