I've noticed that a few of the truck stops around town are selling LSD(500ppm). One of the stations I go to most actually switched to ULSD in January and just switched back to LSD a few weeks ago. Is it still legal to run LSD?

Until the complete changeover in 2010, yes. They may have had trouble getting a reliable supply of the ULSD and are playing it safe with the LSD stickers.

I run LSD in mine. Your truck will behave better on that stuff. The ULSD is mandatory for 07.5 or newer (LMM)

It could also be that they put the stickers on before their tanks passed and have been unable to get them to pass.

They stations here in FL are running both types of fuel. I have an "03 and I run both types of fuel and I personally cant tell a difference in the two.

The truck stop I get my fuel from along with several others in the area have both fuels. I go to Citgo station truck-stop and they have at ONE station B5 and B20 biodiesel. ULSD and LSD diesel. I actually spoke to the technician on their on site repair shop and he said that they plan on keeping the LSD (500ppm) till 2010.

Personally I've noticed that I get better milage out of LSD and B50-100 than I do from ULSD and B20, but the differance is only 1-1.5 mpg.

DITTO here!! I go look for LSD since I get the better mileage :D . I go to the truck stop pumps and not the auto pumps cuz auto is usually ULSD while Others are LSD.

The signs on the pumps are misleading. The large refineries (and everything in California) had to start making ULSD in mid-2006. It's more expensive to make ULSD, but it's even more expensive to make both because you need to keep track of your tanks and piping to make sure you don't contaminate ULSD with LSD residue. The result is that once a refinery switches over to ULSD they quickly clear out all the LSD and don't make it again. One recent study found that over half of the fuel sold in the US as LSD was actually ULSD or slightly contaminated ULSD being sold as LSD.

Mine gets 0.5-1.0 mpg better with ULSD.
