I just bought a new '07 Chevy Classic 2500HD Crew 4x4 with Duramax 6.6 engine/Allison 6spd. This is my very first diesel. The dealer told me that mine would burn either diesel. My question is, What do I need to look for when buying fuel to help keep my fuel system clean? I'd rather pay a little more or maybe add some additive to help keep my truck out of the shop and maybe get better mileage. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Gonna do a lot more reading the threads on here too.
Thanks,
Mike

Try diesel plus. I use it every tank. I get better mpg and it lubes the fuel system. also is used for antigel in the winter.:):D

U might also want to consider stanadyne. It's the ONLY fuel additive approved by GM warranty. I run it every tank. good stuff.

What about DieselKleen?
I ran both the white bottle in the winter and the silver/gray bottle in the summer. I had a problem this winter and the tech asked what fuel treatment I was using and he said that it was good to use.

Dealership only mentioned stanadyne and that was it. Heck, they sold it there in the parts dept. I don't know about dieselkleen.

Which stanadyne are you using? I need to know which one to buy for my LBZ to make sure I get the right one.
Thanks!
I use the performance formula. Its the one with the blue looking label.

During summer I use the Stanadyne purple and in winter I use the blue.
