I have decided on the Diamo 16 Karat wheels. They are 20x10, -12mm, 5.03 BS. Will they stick out too far? I am planning on green keys and 33's.

That is a good offset for a non lifted truck. I keep them in stock if you are having trouble finding them locally.

Thanks Marcsanz, You are only about 4 hours from me. I'll give you a call and get a price when I'm ready to buy. Do you sell the 33" Nitto Mud Grapplers too?

I do, we prefer the Toyo's for ride, etc. But I can get either.

Just realized I misread your post. You are ideally going to want a +12 offset not -12 Here is a picture of a 20x10 with a +12 add 1 inch outward to get an idea what a -12 would look like.

Yep you are right. According to wheelpros.com that is the only offset that the 16 karat 8-lug comes in. Crap, guess I will have to find a different wheel. Thanks for the info.

How about these? They are a 20x10 with a +12

is a +14mm offset not going to work on a stock pickup?

How tall can you go without lossing power and raising the truck.I tow a large fifth wheel and dont want to loss any power. How much are those rims those are cool...

+14 mm will work, but it will stick out 1 inch more than the first picture I posted.
Most people want to run 285/70's so they put on a leveling kit to avoid rubbing. No real loss of power so to speak though. From the mods you list I hardly doubt you would notice anything other than the great new looks of some chrome wheels

Woah I am totally confused now. You said a -12 mm would stick out 1 inch more than the pic. I would think that a +14 would put the tire farther underneath the fenderwell... I am finding some wheels with a +18 mm offset, I thought those would work fine...:confuzeld

As am I, but I believe a positive offset means that they tuck in.

You want a 0 or positive offset. Mine are +12 but on a 9" wheel, backspace is 5.4". They are 18's but you get the idea. Check my garage for pictures. With a negative offset, especially on a 10" wheel, you are going to get a lot of rubbing. It's the outside of the wheel that will rub when turning, especially on the back of the wheel well. Prepare to break out the sawzall.

I am just completely backwards from the get go on this thread....sorry guys...not sure where my mind was but my reading conprehension is obviously not working today. Cliff notes: 20x10 +12mm thru +30mm perfect for a stock truck without sticking out. -12mm through -24mm for lifted applications...will stick out. Sorry about the miscommunication guys.

Not a problem ! I'm just glad you clarified it. I am going to print that out and stick it on my wall !!! :D Now I just need to find some 20's with + offset... (that I like).

Look at Ultra's lineup.

I might print it and hang it on my wall too!!! I seem to be the one who has trouble remembering it. Couple things for you to consider... if you go to a 20x9 you will have 1000 more options. Look at the KMC Backseat, Helo 835,837 also look at the Alba Dakar or the Ice Metal 896. All of those are 20x9 and have the correct offsets.

Thanks for the advice. I did a LOT of research and it came down to the KMC Hoss or Badlands. I think they are both 20x10 with +18. I didnt know if I went with 20x9 that it would open up more wheel options for me. Another question: If I decide to lift it later on and go with a 35, will the 20x9 still work?

Just ordered a set of Diamo 18 Karat on a set of BFG 285's from Marc. I can't wait. Thank you for your help man!!!!!!!

marcsanz

Either the Hoss or the Badlands would work...badlands look awesome too. 20x9 will have some more options, but if you found something you love and its a 10 then perfect. Those offset are a little higher than we like to use for a lifted application, but they will be fine as most lift are going to widen the front track by 20mm or more anyway.

Ryan, you are very welcome brother!

Yup, I was going to suggest the Badlands also if you like the Diamo 16's. They look sweet! The Diamo 16's were my 1st choice also but didn't work for me either so I went w/ the Alba's at the time.

Here is an update on this thread if anybody is interested:

I have done a LOT of research on 20" 8-lug wheels with + offset. I have found that KMC Hoss and Badlands, Venti V92's and Jesse James will work. I like a lot of wheels from MKW, Ultra and Pro Comp but cant find any info on the offset. If anybody has a source for this information I would appreciate it.

I need some suggestions guys. Actually, it is a 2 part question.

I am looking for either 18x9 or 17x9 rims. I am looking for a more aggressive look where the tires stick out a bit from my fenders. I am willing to do some minor mods to the bumper plastic, wheel wells. That also includes TB cranking and possibly a temporary set of 2" blocks in the rear to keep some rake to my truck.

Will I have any rubbing issues with 18's x 9" and no lift - just a TB crank? Last, what would you recommend as far as backspacing and offset? Keep in mind I pull my work trailer EVERYDAY.

So far, I like XD monsters, KMC diesels. The tires will be Toyo M/T's for sure. Any and all advice will be hugely appreciated. A few tire stores I have visited this week have me greatly confused. Most tell me to stick with the stock 16" rims because their "book" doesn't show any + size options for a 06' HD. I refuse to run these toy wagon tires thru one more winter!

FloridaZ

You shouldnt have any rubbing issues using that size wheel. If you want the wheel/tire to stick out then you will have a lot of wheels to choose from. I havent bought any wheels yet but from my research it looks like you want anything from a 0 offset to a -21 or so. I think the KMC Diesels would be right. I like them too, but am looking for a positive offset.

Question?

So + offset in, - offset out. The stock wheels that I have are 16 x 6.5, I think - they are the stock aluminum 16s. Hypothetically speaking, if I was to get a 9" wheell with 00mm offset, does that mean it would stick out 2.5" further than the stock wheel?

Basically Im trying to figure out where the extra wheel goes when you buy wider tires, and why something with more positive offset than the stock wheel sticks out further. I have an idea (the questions above is my idea, but I know if its correct). And i thought differential equations was difficult, little did I know that the guys at Les Schawbs are GENIUS.

You should be able to get Ultra's offset and b/s off their website.
The Ultra Predator is a sick wheel that has perfect offset. Not sure if it comes in 20 or not, but I know rshaw25 has 18x9's and they look great. Hope this helps....

Basically a 9" wheel will stick out 2.5" more than stock if it has the same backspace as the stock wheel, wich I believe is 5.5". The offset would be somewhere around +12 to +14 for a 9" wheel I think. A 9" wheel with a 0 offset will stick out about 3" more than a stock wheel.

I also like the aggressive look where the tires stick out a little, and wouldnt mind doing some trimming. So would 20x10 kmc monsters with a -12 offset and 5.02" backspacing fit with 305/55/20 inch toyos a/t? About how far would these stick out? Or should i continue looking for another set of rims?

You were right, I just didnt drill down far enough. Here is the "final" results of my research. All 20x9 8-lug with varying positive offsets. Of course there are more, but these are the one's I liked.

Take a look at Marcsanz post on page 1 of this thread. He has a pic of a wheel with +12 offset, add an inch outward to that pic and that's what it would look like.
