I have a 95 K2500 with about 30,000 mile on a new engine.well the truck stalled on the highway found a blown fuse for the fuel soleniod put a new fuse in and it ran for about 20 min the blew it again. put another fuse in and it ran for 2min. put another and it blew as soon as i turned the key to start it .

any help with this would be greatly appreciated you guys know alot more about these trucks than i do thanks.

Where is the fuse located? If it's different than the fuel solenoid relay that's in the fuse box on the driver's side of the engine compartment, it could be that the relay is bad and overloading the fuse???

The fuel solenoid is on the injection pump. It has a red(+) and black(-) wire coming off of it and going to the FSD/PMD.

check the wiring harness. A pinched or grounded wire could fry the fuse.

Alrighty then. Check the wiring harness that QM mentioned, and check out the relay if the wiring harness looks fine. Sure sounds like a short to me.Edited by: w_huisman

Unplug the lift pump, and replace the fuse with pump disconnected(truck will run with out a lift pump), and see if it blows again, if it does high probability problem is in the pump itself causing overload condition. If problem does not comeback, make some jumper wires and through a in line fuse put power to the lift pump directly, if that inline fuse pops, you have pretty much isolated the problem to the pump.

Thanks to all you guys for your help. Turned out the fuel soleniod itself was bad

Ouch. That means a new or rebuilt pump.

That's cool but they have to pull the injection pump. you should find out how much if they pull it and how much if you bring the pump in. Or are you pulling it and shipping it to them?Edited by: quantum mechanic

JD6200;

If your clock has less than 120,000 miles GM will pick up the tab for the Injection Pump. You still have two years left on the calender?
