On the drivers side of the engine, I noticed what looked like one of the engine munt bolts with a gap between the surface and the bolt head face. On closer inspection I saw that there are two bolts through the engine mount on each side and one on the drivers side was missing. How could this possibly have come all the way out, and the other have been working it's way loose? I have never had the engine out and have not knowledge of why the dealy might have loosened the bolts for any reason.

I tightened the one remaining bolt, but am not sure of the torque requirement, and now need to replace the existing bolt. Any clues?

if you are doing any towing with it . they are probably broke off . i have 3 3500s and all three have broken the engine mounts . one of them the bolts were broke off in the block . look close to see if yours are broken.. if you are lucky thay are not .

Fortunately I can see that the through bolt is not broken off. I tightened the remaining bolt down and ordered another from the dealer to replace the missing one. These are the through bolts that secure the engine to the frame through the engine mount bushing.
