Anybody have any experience with this PMD cooler?
http://tinyurl.com/6pchw
I'd mount it inbetween the grill and the radiator, and not on top of the intake, as the ad suggests.
Also, I likely won't have a thermal pad that comes with new PMD's. Will the thermal paste that comes with the cooler be alright? If not, where/how can I pick up just a pad?
Thanks!

One thing to note it's annodized, annodize is an insulator coating and may inhibit heat XFER some, if it were me mount out of the engine bay, and have the FSD to heat sink mounting area machined for better heat xfer, paste is okay. pad ios supposed to work better, source my guess would be Stanadyne.

By "machined", do you mean sanded down to the aluminum?

That's a good price.
Yes he means sand down to aluminum. I would do that.
The best heat sink compound is "arctic silver". I use it for computer CPU cooling. Works better than the normal white stuff. Keeps the CPU several degrees cooler.
If your truck has a trans cooler in front of the rad/condenser you'll find that the brackets are a very convienent place to mount the cooler out front. The FSD fits perfectly between the two brackets.

Machined is what I meant; a small cut to insure it is flat for best heat xfer, maybe lapping compound on a piece of glass would work, afraid sandpaper would not maintain flatness, lapping on glass is what we used to do on HP air compressor valves, if we could not get new ones.
