I read on Quads web page that their towing programmers run lower EGTs than other brands. They do not provide any data or graphs to back this up. Does anyone have any proof?

Additionally what would they change in the programming to do this?

I have the 110hp "tow" tuner and it seems to run fairly cool. In the 110 setting and my foot to the floor, I've seen it tickle 1200°F on a dead run to 70. I've towed my boat around in the 90 setting and it rarely got over 900°F on longer hills.

So yes, it does run cooler as claimed. Nice unit.

I recently towed a 7000 pound trailer 1000 miles useing the Quad 110hp tune. At 80mph it would sit around 900 degrees. At 70mph it would be around 750. On this trip I had the stock intake and exhaust. Now I have a 4" Banks exhaust, and an AFE Stage 2 intake, so the next time I hook up the trailer, I'm going to try the 135hp setting. Even though I will be running a hotter tune, I am betting with the exhaust and intake, the EGT will be the same or better.
