Ok Ill start by telling you the history. I limped my trans pulling a trailer so I removed the trans and installed a transgo kit and replaced damaged clutches and also installed a 1056 suncoast converter. My question is since then I have installed the edge and when I get on it the trans seems like it shifts 9 times as it goes through the gears.(it goes into tcc lock up in gears 2-5) Pulling my travel trailer this weekend with the edge set on 2/5 in tow haul mode I could watch the trans shift into the gears and go into lock up in gears 2-5 the thing that scares me is the tcc lock up apply is just as hard a regular shft. Is this normal with a aftermarket torque converter and shift kit? The shifts go as followed 1-2(2lockup)3(3lockup)4(4lockup)5(5lockup).

That's normal. When the converter locks up it's just like grabbing another gear. Sometimes the converter locking is firmer than the shifts. Good Converter.
