has anyone herd about plugging your wastegate? to keep building up your turbo..is this a good idea or should'nt do it?

DON'T DO IT!!! You will adios the thing in a short matter of time. Talk to Got Juice on this. There are others around here as well with the delightful experience.

Ok, here is the deal. regarding your wastegate.


DO NOT DO IT!


i have blown up turbos on these motors enough to know what will and will not fly...... install a decent boost gauge, and 34PSIG post CAC ABSOLUTE MAX for safety reasons.... even then a bark is possible with a quick lift..... we only have a roughly 7 psig safety window here.... and 7psi can be blown past a weak gate awfully quick...





BTW... apart from cost it takes a bit of time to replace a turbo on one of these...... 6-8 hours if you drop the trans or id you have a spare turbo appx 9 hours and cheat the housing.

I have never heard of plugging a wategate....lol... at least not above the exploding turbo sound.... is that normal?
