if i install this on my tranny will it really help the tranny run cooler. last summer out here in the central valley of CA it was hotter then normal and my tranny guage would hit about 190-200 after like 5 minutes of driving. plus i go to vegas a lot to see my dad and it runs the same temp all the way there and its about 400 miles 1 way. is that normal even when you dont tow. is it worth the money?

It's nice that it holds more fluid, but it will just take longer for the fluid to reach operating temp, it won't necessarily run cooler...I have one on my '05 and '02...

ya a bigger transmission cooler would cool the fluid down more

like neens said it will take longer to heat up, but i believe the increased capacity lets it also sit and cool longer. also the pan sits lower which allows it to collect more air from under the truck. this is there main selling point in lowering the temps. the biggest thing they do is rigidity. allison makes a deep pan for the 1000 just like the stocker but deeper. incase you just want more fluid for cheaper.

Repost to let us know what the tranny runs after you install it.

Bigger pan and an upgraded aftermarket cooler would certainly benenfit you a lot. I've got Mags front and rear and tranny on my Cummins and plan on the same for my Dmax.
