how long should i wait till i whamp on it


I put mine on around 7k miles. Truck runs great. Usually run it in towing mode most of the time. Sometimes in performance and every now and then in extreme when I am about to do some stoplight to stoplight playing.

Put mine on the truck at the dealer at 60mi. Had about a 10mi drive to the interstate and that was all she wrote. So I waited about 10-12mi before I unleashed hell. Run mine in Perf mode then CL if I am in a battle. I actually get better MPG in Perf mode then I do in Tow/Econ. 17.5 perf and mid 16's in tow/econ. Lightfooted CL and got 17.8mpg. DIC said I was getting 26mpg..:eek: Now that is funny. Oh yeah now at 9940mi. Stock trans 100% yes I know it is only a matter of time.lol

how much faster is it in the CL tune

Not sure about 0-60 or 1/4 mile. But you will notice a huge difference from seat of your pants meter.

FYI: Update CL started to play havoc with the truck yesterday. Not sure if it is the trans(slipping) or the high 80* temps or the fact that I have not run it in about a week. I am going to run it the next few days and see if the trans re-learns at starts acting right again. Will let you know. This could be the begining of the end.:eek:

Tdusseau, is this a little project that you are doing to tear up your tranny?! If it is I guess you're just looking for a reason to beef up the tranny and add more goodies, huh?!

I tuned mine at 2500 miles...

I tuned mine at about 1500 miles and was had on it as soon as it learned to shift right. No looking back since then.

Any update on how the truck is acting with the CL tune? I am getting my BD triple Dog installed tomorrow, and the first thing I was going to do was get the CL tune.

Yeah she is back to running fine now. I just took it easy for a few. Ran it up through the gears a few times easy then 1/2 then 3/4 throttle and everything is back to normal. Just running in tow/econ then perf for my milage test it just forgot about CL and adapted to the less HP.

my truck with the cl tune just feels like it stays at 35oorpms and shifts there thrigh all the gears is that right
