Hey everyone. I just got a sixgun from a guy here in my town that had it in his truck then sold his truck and I picked it up used. Ive got it hooked up, green LED is on like everything is right but I cant tell that its doing anything... If it is its very minor. Is there some reason that it wouldnt be working? Wiring is all good its just not increasing performance. Thought maybe there was something I was missing.

Did this have the speed-loader on it in the other truck? It may need to be reset. In fact, I'd reset the unit to begin with just to start with a clean slate if you haven't already.

sounds to me like you just need to reset. if their is one thing banks does right. is their tech support, he will walk you through the reset. they will get you going. it's not that crazy. but you will definetlly be able to feel the banks working.

Never did get it working.

Ive talked to Banks about a dozen different times. The guys are great help and know thier stuff.

My green light is one everything checks out ok like it should be working but its just not adding power. I think there is a problem in the module. Ive tried it every way there is, checked ohms on stuff... It just wont do anything.

Did you run through the learning steps? You have to run each stage about four miles each. Also if the engine is not up to at least 100 degrees it won't give any power, to prevent causing any damage.

Hmmmm. No I didnt. And that is something you would think that the tech guys would have mentioned, or maybe they would have put in the manual. I guess Ill try that today, if that dosent work Im going to try and take it back to the guy.

Do you have to shut the truck off between steps or do anything special? Or just take of drive 4 miles or so in stage 1, switch to 2 drive 4-5 miles, switch to 3 and so on?

P.S. I just called banks tech again and asked them specifically about that and said you dont need to do that for it to add power. May try it anyways just to see what happens though.

Try warming the engine up to 165 degrees and running on six.

well there you go, it's not the running temp that keps the banks on protect, truck needs to running for at least 60 seconds or so. least thats how mine works. The only time i had your problem was when i had to reset the speedloader.

TandC Thanks for the offer!

We did end up getting it figured out. I cant say enough good about Banks Service!!! I mean I bought this thing used and they couldnt have done any more to help me figure it out. Turns out that with the part number tuner I have, once it has seen EGT's it HAS to have them from then on. So once I got the pyrometer hot BAM there the power was lol. Ive since got the pyro installed and the truck runs like a scalled dog! Thanks guys for all the help though! It why ya gotta love this site!
